I wanted to blog about my scary work day.....as most of you know I got a new job and I love it. It's easy and works well around my school schedule and most of my earnings go toward the baby castillo fund! ( : Anyways....I was working one afternoon and I was there all alone. An elderly woman walked in and bought a couple things and I was checking her out when we go into deep conversation. She was telling me the really long story about her mother and life and things like that. Well, I was standing behind the cash register talking to her for a "good" 15-20 minutes. Well, just standing in one spot alone isn't all that comfortable being pregnant but, I had locked my knees while talking to her and I started to feel funny........I started sweating like crazy and feeling dizzy, being the good employee that I am I was just following along and listening intently to this woman's story. Well, I started to notice that it was super hot in the store, I was sweating like a pig and feeling quite unstable, so I leaned forward a little on the counter (while I was nodding my head and say uh huh after each sentence) and started to black out. Well, I was able to make it to a chair which was about 5 feet away and slouch down in it before fainting flat on my face. I went out of consciousness for a bit and came back to life and noticed that the lady was still talking. I have no idea how long I was out or what happened? I just blacked out totally and thanks to the chair (and to God) I was able to wake up quickly and I called my doctor. The doctor told me to come in asap and he would do a check up. So my loving husband came to my rescue and picked me up and took me to see my baby doctor, because my first and main concern was that the baby was ok! We got in to the see the doctor and sure enough my blood pressure was low and he told me that I had a fainting spell. I just lost blood to my head due to my knees being locked and standing for so long. He told me that this is actually common in pregnancy due to the blood volume and center of gravity pulling forward because of the growing belly. Well, after I was checked quickly, he put the doppler on my tummy and we heard our sweet baby's heart beat for the 1st time at 17 weeks. ( : It was amazing and a sigh of relief. The heart was beating like a drum and sounding so sweet I was just so relieved! It was a great feeling....so baby is OK and so am I! Now, at work, I do not stand at all in one place for more than a minute and I try to sit down a little more often and eat a large protein breakfast! That was my scary day at work..........here is a picture of my belly at 17 weeks!!!

Healthy Heart Beat!
Hey Guys! Well....Michael and I went to the doctor (friday 2/6/09) and had our 2nd ultra sound!!! First the doctor gave me an update on my health which I forget about because all I think about is the baby's health. So, he was like you are in perfect health! ( : My blood came back with great results, my iron was perfect along with everything else. Also, my annual women's exam came back great! So I am healthy all around. Good to know. I am 14 weeks and 2 days today. Our baby has grown so much! The baby measurs about the size of my palm maybe a tad bigger. The sex organs are developed but so very small to make any diagnosis. So the doctor did an ultra sound just to check up on the baby's growth and next appt is March 9th and I will be over 18 weeks and he will try to determine male or female. It is best for the doctor to wait till he is 100% sure so we don't go out and buy a bunch of blue stuff and it turns out to be a girl! ( : So he will wait till 18 weeks and try to determine the sex of the baby. Below and attached is an updated picture of our baby ( : Compared to the first one he/she has grown SO MUCH it's amazing. The baby is moving around and we saw the heartbeat and it was just pumping away. The doctor even could see the aorta (which is the major part of the heart). We got to see 2 arms and 2 legs (relief) and even the fingers!!!!! It was very neat. God is amazing and I am totally amazed at his blessings he has given Michael and I with this miracle growing inside me. Please keep praying for the health of the baby. We love all of you! God Bless. Jessica
Now for names: If it is a boy then he will be Hunter Anthony Castillo and if it is a girl then she will be Caroline Grace Castillo ( :

Baby Update!
Well....we went to our 1st appointment on Jan 5th and everything was great! I was in good health and so was the baby. He/she measured to be 29mm long and I found out I was 9 weeks and 5 days at the time, which was a little further along than I thought. From the length of the baby they determined my estimated due date to be Aug 5th, but the doctor said that since I was so early that he will just say Aug 10th. So as for now that is the due date of baby Castillo. They did an ultra sound and we got to see our baby for the 1st time. It was incredible, of course I cried like a baby, I was overwhelmed at what the Lord was creating in me. He is amazing!!! I praise him for this!!! Well...the baby wouldn't stay still....he/she was squirming around everywhere and it was so cute, the doctor was trying to get a still shot and finally the baby stoped doing exercises and we got a picture. I look at it everyday! ( : Our next appt is feb 2 and I will be almost 14 weeks so we don't think we'll be able to find out the gender, the genetalia is there it's just really small about that time, they say 16-20 weeks is perfect for finding out the sex so we might have to wait till next time. We want a baby boy so bad, but as along as the baby is healthy then we're fine with a girl too! ( : I'll post more later!!!!

We're Pregnant!

Michael and I just found out over the Thanksgiving break that I am pregnant! We went to the doctor and sure enough we are going to be parents!!! ( : They ran two tests both were positive and they said I am roughly 4 and 1/2 weeks along! My due date is estimated on August 10th, but knowing babies they come when they want to. We're very thrilled and are so excited to see what God has in store for us as not only a married couple, but now parents! We're hoping for a boy, but as the time passes and it gets closer, we don't care as long as the baby is healthy!
